Larabar Heaven

I knew there had to be Larabars in this town, somewhere!!! Seriously, if Nacogdoches sold them, surely Wilmington did!! Tidal Creek Co-op Market, one of my new favorite grocery stores, did not let me down!! Apple pie, chocolate coconut chew, banana bread, lemon bar, cashew cookie... I was in Larabar heaven!!! If you've never tried a Larabar, you must!! They're 100% natural ingredients and just oh so yummy!!

FROG Living

Currently, I live in a frog. Excuse me? A frog?! Yes, you read that right... an F-R-O-G. I never heard of this term until I came here to Wilmington. It sounded quite intriguing until the mystery was revealed - Fourth Room Over Garage...FROG.

My brother and his wife are kind enough to allow me and my dalmation/pointer/crrrrazzzzy mix doggie to stay with them until I find a place. So, I have the pleasure of living in the frog, which I must say, I rather like!!! It has this wonderful loft feeling. When I wake up in the morning, and the sun is shining bright, I have the pleasure of my day being greeted with a beautiful view overlooking the trees. And if you know me... you know I LOVE trees!!

A new town. It takes time to settle into. And so it is with moving into a new space. I believe one has to allow the space to open before you, slowly welcoming you, bringing you into its presence. Take the time to let the space become your own... whatever that may mean for you. For me, it was the addition of the bright and cheery smile of a brand new orchid. I knew I wanted an orchid and I was determined to get one. I was at Lowe's with my brother and he told me that their kitty, Pumpkin, liked to nibble on flowers and plants. For that reason, they do not keep live plants in the house. Then I wondered if orchids were dangerous to cats. Reluctantly, I left Lowe's sans orchid. I was bummed, to say the least. Me, stubborn... YES! I wanted a pretty flower for my room. So, the very next day I found myself back at Lowe's... determined to get what I wanted. I called my friend, Cindy, to ask if she thought orchids were dangerous to cats. As soon as she told me "No" I knew my beautiful treasure was going home with me THAT day!!! And home she came with me, my phalaenopsis orchid!!! Placing my new treasure on the window sill, a wave of concern came over me about Pumpkin the kitty. That would be terrible if orchids are unsafe for cats, pumpkin nibbled on it, and oh you know the rest of the story. I found myself at the computer to do a little research to see what I could find. Yippee-da-doo-da!!! They are safe. For any cat owners out there you may find this link a good source of information: http://www.cfainc.org/articles/plants-non-toxic.htmloxic.html. Now I could rest easy and enjoy the beauty of my lovely orchid without any worries of killing the cat!

A niche to call my own. We took the chaise part of my sectional couch and placed it in the niche of the frog. Ahhh! It makes a perfect place for relaxing and reading!! Quite comfy for naps, too!
Lila and her new buddy/cousin, Texas the yellow labrador, enjoy hanging out upstairs and looking out the window. They especially enjoy barking at ANYBODY that walks/drives/bikes by the house which usually involves a good 5 minutes of loud barking, some whimpering, and eventually me telling them to "shoosh!" But they're so adorable I tend to let it go on and tune them out. After all, they're just talking, right? I mean, if they could speak in human speak... they'd have stuff to say!
